The sun and the rain are like a radio dial being tuned back and forth randomly and quite quickly.

One minute it is pouring, the next minute the leaves on the trees in the back yard are glistening and the grass is growing (neglected and long and brown from not being cut), and hummingbirds are hovering around the dying buds of flowers hanging arching over the fence in the back yard.

And then i get outside to go, and black clouds loom west, coming fast, and i walk back in to get my umbrella and stuff it quickly into my backpack before i go, along with a few (dozen) cds i've checked out from the library over the last couple of days, in their plastic cases, ready to get opened, shuffled for each other, and then back into the backpack.

I went to that interview today, for the Summer Reading, and basically about 5 minutes was spent going over what it involved, and 20 minutes was spent talking about how i'm a good candidate to get a job at the library, and doing this is a great way to get a leg up, and get to know all the people who work at your library, and study for the civil service test.

And then i was like 'What if i'm doing this just to help out my community and to do something that is enjoyable?'

Anyway, i wouldn't mind working in the library. It's so competitive, though, that i wonder if it's even worth it to wish.

The building was right across the street from the medical examiners office; a single story brick building that looked like a country club. Cars from the 80's parked haphazardly, bushes overgrowing, a single overhang with a driveway going back behind the building, where the bodies go.

I applied for a job on the Portland Spirit. The boat the ferries rich people up and down the willamette and columbia every night, for dinner and drinks and tune out your fucking life. Who knows, maybe i'll go far.

Some guy from the band 'Sounds like Fun' was at B's party on monday, and said that he was quitting his job at Noah's Bagles soon, and that i was welcome to come in and ask about his job. And he wouldn't be offended.

I don't know, i'm tired.

Knife in the Water sucked. I don't really think i've seen a movie by Roman Polansiki that was any good. The Pianist, granted, had its moments. But was shlocky and cliched more than anything else.

I'm starting a writing group with Jake. Who i've never actually met. But he seems enthusiastic about it.

Having been asked by Amanda if his writing group was accepting new members, and taking her phone and giving me a call and leaving a message about how we should meet and plan a new group because the one he had is defunct.

If anybody in portland wants to be in a writing group(?) let me know i guess.
